What is Putin Up To? Part II

Putin appears to be more motivated by a pre-Bolshevik notion called “Eurasianism” than in rebuilding the USSR. Eurasianism is about a unified Slavic identity, separate and distinct from Europe. Sounds groovy, but with Putin and his ilk at the helm, it could mean something more fascistic and radical than Soviet socialism. A totalitarian super-power nationalism. Ukraine is an invaluable part of this planned super-national power. The loss of the pro-Slavic_distribution_originRussian administration in Kiev was a huge blow. American and EU involvement in this, real or perceived, is a major irritant. The Ukrainian protests and coup sabotaged Putin’s plans for what he called a “Eurasian Union” which was set to be founded at the end of the year.
